Areas of Fiji without power supply tickled the curiosity of Ravinesh when he visited family and friends as a child.
Whilst at university studying for his Bachelor in Science, he had made up his mind that renewable energy was going to be his career path, as he wanted every child to be able to study with proper lighting.
Ravinesh has worked on energy, environment, climate and governance related issues that impact communities in the region.
He has been the Deputy Director of Energy for the Government of Fiji dealing with energy issues ranging from policy level to project implementation at grassroots level.
He has also worked as an academic in the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology with the Fiji National University and with Fiji’s Ministry of Education.
Ravinesh has an undergraduate Degree in Science and several postgraduate qualifications including a Master of Engineering in Energy Planning & Policy apart from a Master of Science in Physics & Renewable Energy.
